Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some commonly asked questions about TeleMeMD LLC

WHAT IS TELEMEMD?

TeleMeMD LLC is personal, urgent medical care by subscription. I provide access to urgent medical care via Telehealth communication. House calls will be available soon. I provide services you would normally receive at an urgent care facility except in your home or office. Labs and x-rays are available. Convenient medical care when and where you need it.

DOES TELEMEMD TAKE INSURANCE?

TeleMeMD does not currently take traditional health insurance. The costs associated with subscription services can, however, be submitted to your HSA or FSA for reimbursement. TeleMeMD is able to provide unprecedented direct, personal access to your provider when you need it. In an era of high deductibles and high co-pays, TeleMeMD can actually save you a significant amount of money even with the convenience of medical care in your home.

WILL TELEMEMD REPLACE MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?

No. TeleMeMD does not want to take the place of your primary physician. In fact, it is an extension of your doctor’s office. All too often in today’s busy medical office schedule, getting a timely appointment is difficult or impossible. When you aren’t feeling well, you don’t want to wait until next week to be seen. This is a perfect time to utilize TeleMeMD. Don’t feel comfortable sitting in a crowded waiting room full of other sick patients? TeleMeMD was created to help you avoid this. Have a question or concern after hours? TeleMeMD has extended hours to help cover those times. A full medical report will be sent to your doctor following any visit with TeleMeMD.

WHAT SERVICES DOES TELEMEMD PROVIDE

TeleMeMD provides the same services you would expect in an Urgent Care at a fraction of the cost with the added convenience of being treated at your home or office. Many conditions such as colds, coughs, sinus problems, simple rashes, allergies and similar conditions can be handled via video Telehealth and high quality photos. Other conditions such as ear infections, sore throats, eye problems, musculoskeletal problems and lacerations may require a house call. Labs, x-rays and prescriptions will be ordered as the medical condition warrants. Emergent medical conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, trauma and newborn fevers are not handled by TeleMeMD and should be handled in the nearest Emergency Department or by calling 911.
