Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some commonly asked questions about TeleMeMD LLC
WHAT IS TELEMEMD?
TeleMeMD LLC provides personal medical care through a subscription-based model. Care is delivered via secure telehealth communication or house calls. We offer many of the same services you would receive at a traditional walk-in care facility—provided in the comfort of your home or office. Laboratory testing and X-ray services are available. TeleMeMD delivers convenient medical care when and where you need it.
DOES TELEMEMD TAKE INSURANCE?
TeleMeMD does not currently accept traditional health insurance. Subscription fees may be eligible for reimbursement through your HSA or FSA. By offering direct, personal access to your provider, TeleMeMD delivers a level of convenience and availability that is uncommon in today’s healthcare system. In an era of high deductibles and rising co-pays, this model can often result in meaningful cost savings—while still providing medical care in the comfort of your home.
WILL TELEMEMD REPLACE MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
It depends. TeleMeMD can act as an extension of your existing primary care physician or, if you choose, serve as your primary source of medical care. For some patients, it complements their doctor’s office by providing timely access when appointments are difficult to schedule. For others, TeleMeMD offers a convenient, direct primary care option. Care is delivered without crowded waiting rooms, reducing exposure to illness, and with extended availability for after-hours questions or concerns. After each visit, a complete medical report can be shared with your primary care physician upon request to ensure continuity of care.
WHAT SERVICES DOES TELEMEMD PROVIDE
TeleMeMD provides many of the same services you would expect from an urgent care or primary care office—often at a fraction of the cost—with the added convenience of care delivered in your home or office. Common conditions such as colds, coughs, sinus infections, simple rashes, allergies, and similar concerns can often be evaluated and treated through video telehealth and high-quality photos. Some conditions, including ear infections, sore throats, eye issues, musculoskeletal injuries, and lacerations, may require an in-home visit. Laboratory testing, X-rays, and prescriptions are ordered when medically appropriate. Emergent conditions—such as chest pain, shortness of breath, significant trauma, or fever in a newborn—are not treated by TeleMeMD and should be addressed by calling 911 or visiting the nearest emergency department.
